MISTY's Story
Since a young age, Misty has felt called to help people, especially children, the vulnerable and those who are hurting. Misty’s desire is to save girls and women from their pain and brokenness leading them to a live of freedom and hope.
Misty has 25 years of business management experience in local and international for-profit and non-profit sectors. She holds a Non-Profit Management Certificate (Simon Fraser University) and is skilled in management, accounting, administration, fundraising, cross-cultural relationships, logistics, and communication. Misty has volunteered for non-profits locally and abroad for the last 33 years.
Misty is deeply moved to make a difference in the lives of those who are hurting, both locally and overseas, especially those who have been abused, broken, overlooked or considered to be a lost cause. The most rewarding moments of her life have been being a voice for the voiceless, standing up for injustice, and advocating for those who needed someone in their corner. Her desire is to have many more moments such as these, knowing that saving even one life is worth every sacrifice. Edmund Burke said 'All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men (or women) to do nothing.' I refuse to do nothing when it's in my power to act and make a difference in the lives of others.
